IMechE Formula Student sponsorship activities
- We are delighted to be sponsoring two of the best performing teams in the IMechE Formula Student competition over the next two seasons (2023 / 2024)
- We look forward to working closely with both teams as they develop, test and optimise their race cars for the main event at Silverstone in July
- Both teams will benefit from the valuable guidance and advice provided by our technical experts in both ICE and EV technologies
- The teams will also get the opportunity to run their cars on our state-of-the-art chassis dyno to ensure that their performance, driveability and reliability targets are achieved
Cardiff Racing
Cardiff Racing at Silverstone (2022)
- Cardiff Racing have competed in the Formula Student competition since 2003
- The first British team to win the FSUK event (at Silverstone) in 2017
- The team are developing both ICE and electric race cars for 2023/24
- Key features of the new car for 2023 (CR19):
- Pre-chamber ignition technology
- Modified Triumph 675 engine with bespoke intake & exhaust systems
- New venturi silencer, electronic throttle and SLS intake system

UoN Racing Team at Silverstone (2022)
- UoNRT have competed in the Formula Student competition (EV category) since 2018
- Finished first in the EV category in 2021
- Awarded best EV in 2022
