MAHLE acquires Amafilter Group Holding BV

On July 24, 2008, the business division Industrial Filtration of MAHLE Filtersysteme GmbH signed an agreement concerning the acquisition of Amafilter Group Holding BV, headquartered in Alkmaar, Netherlands.

Stuttgart, August 1, 2008 – On July 24, 2008, the business division Industrial Filtration of MAHLE Filtersysteme GmbH signed an agreement concerning the acquisition of Amafilter Group Holding BV, headquartered in Alkmaar, Netherlands.

The Amafilter Group employs approximately 450 employees and is expecting an estimated sales volume of 80 million Euros in 2008. MAHLE Filtersysteme will take over 100 percent of the shares and integrate the company into the MAHLE Group expectedly as of September 1, 2008. The acquisition is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities. The company produces integrated filtration solutions for the process technology.

Amafilter Group possesses production locations in the Netherlands, England, France, Italy, and the USA and optimally complements the existing production locations of the business division MAHLE Industrial Filtration. Also, regarding the product portfolio and the customer structure, it perfectly fits into the existing business division. In the coming years, MAHLE plans to achieve a significant growth in sales by using the new potentials mainly in the growth markets food, energy technology, oil and gas as well as in the chemical industry.

Ulrich Eich, General Manager of the business division MAHLE Industrial Filtration, says: "Together with the Amafilter Group, we will in the future have a unique spectrum of systems solutions available regarding filtration and separation. It will be complemented by our comprehensive program of complete filters, filter elements, spare parts and services.
