MAHLE Powertrain boosts jobs with emissions test centre funding

Northampton, August 11, 2017 – MAHLE Powertrain, the global leader in engine development solutions, has been awarded £2.1m towards the construction of a state-of-the-art climatic vehicle emissions test centre at its UK base in Northampton. The funding, provided by the South-East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) through the Local Growth Fund, will safeguard existing jobs while creating new opportunities for highly skilled engineers.

MAHLE expands vehicle electronics development center

Stuttgart, May 24, 2017 – MAHLE’s takeover of electronics specialist Nagares SA, announced in March 2017, is now complete. Following approval by the antitrust authorities, the Spanish company will now be integrated into the group.


New 4WD Chassis Dyno at MAHLE Powertrain

As part of the ongoing development at its Northampton headquarters, MAHLE Powertrain is constructing a brand new vehicle emissions testing facility incorporating a 4WD chassis dyno. The Real Driving Emissions Centre (RDEC) will enhance MAHLE Powertrain's existing capabilities for comprehensive RDE test services from on-the-road PEMS testing to dyno-based road driving simulations within the chamber. This new facility, due for completion in Q2 2018, will further extend the range of vehicle test and development services required by our customers due to the imminent introduction of the WLTP test regime.


MAHLE expands in China

Stuttgart, May 16, 2017 – The MAHLE Group is expanding its presence in China, MAHLE’s fastest growing market. Today, a new plant for automotive compressors was officially opened in Changshu/China. MAHLE is thus strengthening its positioning in the climate compressor business—a fast-growing market segment.


MAHLE positions itself for the future

Stuttgart, April 26, 2017 – The MAHLE Group increased its sales to around EUR 12.3 billion in the 2016 business year, which corresponds to growth of more than seven percent. “Our 2016 business year was heavily characterized by the implementation of our dual strategy for the parallel development of combustion engine and e-mobility products,” said Wolf-Henning Scheider, Chairman of the MAHLE Management Board and CEO, during the press conference on the Financial Statements in Stuttgart/Germany.

Stuttgart, March 15, 2017 – MAHLE plans to take over Spanish electronics specialist Nagares SA. It has been agreed with the owners of the family-run company that the purchase price will not be disclosed. The transaction is still subject to approval by theantitrust authorities.


MAHLE takes over Duisburg-based start-up company O-Flexx

Stuttgart/Germany, February 13, 2017 – The MAHLE Group is expanding its expertise in the field of thermoelectrics by taking over the start-up company O-Flexx Technologies GmbH based in Duisburg/Germany. It has been agreed that the purchase price will not be disclosed.


Bosch and MAHLE plan sale of joint turbocharger business BMTS

Stuttgart/Germany, January 23, 2017 – The Bosch Group and the MAHLE Group have decided to seek a buyer for their joint venture, Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems (BMTS). The joint subsidiary was founded in 2008. With a total of around 1,400 employees, it develops and produces turbochargers for manufacturers of passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Production is largely based in St. Michael/Austria and in Shanghai/China. In Germany, BMTS also has a presence at two further locations in Stuttgart and Blaichach. Thanks to the technology used in their production and their high quality, BMTS products have an excellent reputation in the automotive industry. They have received numerous industry awards.


MAHLE completes sale of industrial filtration activities to Filtration Group

Stuttgart/Germany, November 1, 2016 – The MAHLE Group completes the sale of its industrial filtration activities to U.S.-based Filtration Group. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price for the transaction, which was previously approved by the antitrust authorities.
