Hybrid thermal management
Hybrid vehicles can place a more significant demand on their cooling systems than conventional vehicles. Often, there is also the additional complication of a requirement for cooling systems operating with high and low temperature circuits for the IC engine and power electronics respectively. Our Approach
The team of engineers at MAHLE Powertrain have extensive experience in conducting Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) analysis of many powertrain systems and components, and have access to leading simulation tools and high performance computing resources. We use a combination 1D and 3D approaches for the analysis and optimisation of coolant systems. We can also couple these codes to our drive-cycle modelling software to fully understand operational thermal demands.
