MAHLE Powertrain's test facility offers four dedicated rig test rooms and an engine hot test cell. Bespoke rigs are designed and assembled to suit specific test requirements.

Our Approach

Our rig test facilities are flexible and adaptable to customer requirements. Specialist rigs include a multi-axis tilt rig for oil and breather development work, a cylinder head airflow rig, a valve train dynamics rig and various coolant, oil and fuel system test rigs. Our Northampton facility also includes a motored friction tear-down test cell with controllable fuel, oil and coolant parameters to simulate running conditions. A twin bay hot test cell is also available to verify basic energy integrity prior to test cell or vehicle installation.
