MAHLE Powertrain has a number of test rig areas for running engines under light or no load. Rigs include multi axis engine tilt; friction measurement; airflow; valve rotation and valve-train dynamics; engine coolant flow visualization; crankshaft thrust loading; and injector flow. We also have hot test cells for running engines under no load.
Gasoline, diesel and alternative fuel engines can all be fully tested on automated test benches. Steady-state and transient engine test cells provide dynamometer data. Climate test chambers provide air temperature control from -40 C to +50 C and fuel temperature control from -20 C to +35 C. Design, develop, test and validate - MAHLE Powertrain has the facilities and expertise to ensure that its power-trains and components achieve proven peak performance and durability.
