  • Relocation expenses
    The company offers a generous relocation package to new hires and employees required to transfer within the company or Group.

    Recruitment Incentive
    To encourage talented individuals to join the company, we operate a recruitment incentive scheme. If current employees refer colleagues or friends to join MAHLE Powertrain, there is a special payment after the new starter has successfully passed any probationary period.

    Company Pension Scheme
    The Company operates a defined contribution pension scheme with variable employee and employer contribution rates and additional employer contributions for long service. Members have a choice of investment funds and also generous life assurance benefits.

    Holidays
    Employees are entitled to 25 days' basic holiday plus eight statutory days per calendar year. The company operates a system of nominated holidays pertinent to each site. In addition, after an employee has worked for the company for more than five years, s/he is entitled to additional service-related holiday.

    All Employees are eligible for single private medical cover once they have completed one year of service. Employees may extend this cover to their family at their own cost at preferential rate.

    Occupational Health
    As part of our commitment to the welfare of our employees, each site has appropriate facilities and a visiting Occupational Health Nurse, supported by a Company Medical Doctor.

    Sickness Absence Pay
    Subject to the manager's discretion, employees are entitled to payment during sickness, including any sums due under Statutory Sick Pay, which increases with service with the company.

    Maternity Leave
    The company offers maternity pay above the statutory minimum and a programme to re-integrate back into the workplace after maternity leave.

    Paternity Leave, Adoption Leave, Parental Leave and Part-Time Working
    The company provides these as per current UK legislation.

    Each business area produces a training plan detailing training and development needs for employees. All employees receive a minimum annual appraisal. Graduates and other young people on trainee schemes will have planned work experience and development and regular reviews to maintain and encourage their progress.

    As part of our commitment to the professional development of all employees, the company will reimburse the subscription cost of membership to one approved professional association per employee per year.

    The company supports and encourages young engineers through the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and for employees at all levels further study for relevant professional, vocational and educational qualifications, including degree, HND/HNC and NVQs.

    Career Development
    Opportunities exist to develop a career within your specific business, professional function or career stream. As part of the MAHLE group and with an international client base, there are also opportunities to work outside the UK on short or long-term assignments, gaining valuable technical, business and cultural experience.

    Internal Communications
    MAHLE Powertrain Board of Directors provides an annual Employee Briefing to review the company progress and development. Employees have the opportunity to put questions and discuss their views with Senior Management. In addition during the year each Managing Director briefs his area on developments in their specific business.

    The company operates an intranet and uses on-line discussion forums for various user groups, as well as regular team and department briefings.

    The MAHLE Powertrain Employee Consultation Group is an employee consultative body that aims to enhance communication within the company, and provide the opportunity for management and employee representatives from each location to present business developments and views, comments and feedback. An employee representative is nominated to attend the MAHLE Employee Group European Works Council.
